FAQ - Farming and CSA

 What is “social enterprise?”

Social enterprises are businesses that don't just see their bottom line in terms of profit: their mission is to bring about social change.

Unlike many social enterprises, Growing Home’s organic agriculture business was started in tandem with our job training program: our business provides transitional employment for participants in our program.

What does Growing Home do with the money I spend on my CSA share?

100% of earned income from sales of our produce are reinvested into our social enterprise and fund our job training program and maintenance of our farm sites.

I don’t want to buy a full CSA. How else can I get Growing Home’s produce?

Growing Home sells its produce at two farmers markets: on Saturdays at Green City Market, and on Thursdays at the Englewood Farmers Market.

Is Growing Home's produce organic?

Yes. All of Growing Home's farms are USDA Certified Organic. Growing Home is certified by Midwest Organic Services Association, Inc.
